Citizen Promaster Sky watch comes with the technologies of Global Radio Controlled (World time in 26 cities) and Eco-Drive. The vintage aesthetic can be seen in the choice of Arabic numerals on the dial, which like the rest of the indices and the hands being fully luminous. The model that references this old school feeling the most, the CB0240-11L has its luminous dial elements in a faded brown colour, much like old pilot’s watches from the 1950’s with faded tritium. This watch comes with a blue dial and is also mounted on a brown calf leather strap with white stitching, further enhancing the retro vibe of the model.
Also, part of the design is a slide rule bezel, that differs in its implementation to the usual way. This time it is internal and operated by a crown at the 8 o’clock position. This method of not having an external bezel has the advantage of having the watch retain its vintage design aesthetic, without compromising the usefulness of such a feature on a watch designed for the use of pilots.
